I am a postdoc at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary, Calgary studying the neurobiology of pain. I obtained my PhD from University of Nottingham, U.K, in developmental neuroscience, with a focus on understanding opioid and endocannabinoid modulation of pain during the postnatal period.

My research focuses on the pathophysiology of neuropathic pain (i.e. pain arising from injuries to the nervous system). My current project aims to discover the ways to alleviate this pain by exercise and physical rehabilitation. Specifically, how cross talk between the immune and nervous systems can be facilitated by exercise, and the cellular/molecular targets involved in these pathways.
