Evidence Day 2026: AI agents and the next generation of publishing, 15 October in Skopje

The second Evidence Day takes place on Thursday, 15 October 2026, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. Evidence Day brings together the international partners of NeuroLibre and its successor, Evidence, the CONP-supported platforms for reproducible publishing, with participation from Canada, Japan, North Macedonia and the United Arab Emirates.

This year’s theme is An Innovative Look at the Role of LLMs in Next-Gen Publishing. Large language models are now part of how researchers read, write and review. What they lack is the article as structured data, bundled with its own reproducible sandbox of code, data and runtime environment. That is the difference between a document an AI agent can summarize and an object it can work with. The day’s themes are AI agents, structured data, WebAssembly and browser-side computing, and the long-term sustainability of live computing and data.

Plenary speakers

  • Stephen Boyd, Stanford University
  • Jingang Qu, NVIDIA (remote)
  • Xue (Steve) Liu, MBZUAI and McGill University (remote): “Evidence as an Innovative Platform for AI Research”

Agâh Karakuzu, technical lead of NeuroLibre/Evidence, will present the platform’s newest advances in “Agents of the Woven Literature”. Invited talks by Matthew Akamatsu (University of Washington) on MIRA, a protocol for attributing research claims and evidence, and by Kiril Gashteovski (NEC Laboratories Europe) on peer review using AI complete the morning, followed by a round table of the Evidence partner chairs on the platform’s long-term sustainability.

Several CONP members sit on the scientific committee, including Nikola Stikov, Agâh Karakuzu, Alan C. Evans, Patrick Bermudez, Mathieu Boudreau and Samir Das.

The first Evidence Day, held at NYU Abu Dhabi in December 2025, introduced Evidentron, the platform’s AI assistant (watch the demonstration).
