Jessica Royer is a clinical neuropsychologist currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience at McGill University, co-supervised by Drs. Boris Bernhardt and Birgit Frauscher. Her work aims to better understand social cognition and emotion processing in healthy and epileptic individuals using a combination of multimodal neuroimaging, scalp and intracranial electroencephalography, as well as detailed behavioural testing.
With the support of the CONP, Jessica is working on the first open data repository targeting drug-resistant epilepsy. This repository will consist of different types of neuroimaging and clinical data acquired in epileptic patients and age-, sex-, and education-matched healthy controls. By fostering collaboration between researchers with different areas of expertise, this project will accelerate improvements in patient care through the identification of reliable markers of prognosis in this patient population.
