Dylan Terstege is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Calgary’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Epp.  His research focuses on interventions to alter the functional connectivity of the brain during learning and memory.

Research Project

The production of new neurons during adulthood influence memory ability. Furthermore, learning changes the rate at which neurons are generated.  Using a custom and open-source brain mapping tool, Dylan’s research aims to characterize how the generation of new neurons alters the rate of memory consolidation.

Check out Dylan’s presentation of his CONP project in a short talk entitled “Flexible atlas segmentation tool for multi-area processing”.
