Ryan is a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Bradley Buchsbaum in the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest Hospital. He studies episodic memory retrieval and is interested in understanding how vivid recollections are supported in the brain. His work employs neuroimaging and behavioural methods to investigate how subjective vividness ratings relate to objective measures of recollection
Research Project
The Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) standard has greatly promoted sharing of open neuroimaging datasets. It is important that commonly used statistical tools can easily work with datasets conforming to the BIDS standard. With the support of CONP, Ryan is working to develop an open-source software package allowing the R programming language to interface with BIDS datasets. This effort aims to make analysis of open neuroimaging datasets more accessible and encourage the practice of open neuroscience.
